In 1996, Dr. Carter was invited to join a select group of internationally known physicians as a core investigator in the American LASIK study sponsored by the International Society For Refractive Surgery.
As part of this national study, Dr. Carter performed the first laser refractive correction in North Texas. He’s been recognized by Summit Technology, Inc. as one of the first inductees into the company's "Apex Plus Society". Summit Technology gave this award to a select group of distinguished ophthalmologists.
