The Carter Eye Center has NEVER offered so called “Dropless cataract surgery” to our patients. Since its inception in 2015, Dr. Carter has believed that “Dropless cataract surgery” exposes the patients to unnecessary risks. The Carter Eye Center takes its responsibility to provide the highest quality surgical outcome with the smallest amount of potential risks to the patient wherever possible. Dr. Carter has long opposed using compounding pharmacies for surgical medications because of the lack of oversight and reports of frequent errors, such as those recently reported in Dallas by Channel 5 KXAS and Channel 8 WFAA. Dr. Carter wants to reassure our patients that they will not experience a vision loss following cataract surgery due to the use of a compounded drug.
